8 miles south of downtown Austin you will find what used to be a town called Live Oak Springs.  Austin, Texas Realtors and residents now know it as the beloved southwest community: Oak Hill. Oak Hill is a collection of neighborhoods that form this enclave of hill country culture and lifestyle and many have banded together to form OHAN (Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods). From Apoloosa Run to Zyle Road (A-Z), the subdivisions in Oak Hill sprawl across the Texas Hill Country. The “Y” at Oak Hill is the intersection of HWY 290W towards Dripping Springs and HWY 71 towards Bee Cave and Lake Travis. Many shops and amenities have congregated at the “Y” and in the surrounding area.  Oak Hill boasts its own newspaper, The Oak Hill Gazette, providing news and community information for the area.

Oak Hill residents have access to excellent schools on all levels. Regents School of Austin is a prominent neighbor and Austin Waldorf School can be found on the outskirts of Oak Hill off Circle Drive. The ACC Pinnacle Campus is nestled in the hills of Southwest Austin off of HWY 290W. Family-friendly to the core, camps of all kinds for children and the young at heart can be found tucked down country roads in Oak Hill.

While the boundaries of this community are hard to nail down, this area of Southwest Austin continues to beckon residents to wooded home-sites OR master-planned communities. Whichever way you wish to go, Oak Hill provides options for both and everything in between.

Johnny (Henion) represented us in the sale of our old home. We were very nervous about the length of time it could take to sell and how to price the house. Johnny was prepared with neighborhood data and recommendations to help get the process rolling. Once an offer arrived, we found ourselves with a very high maintenance buyer. After five rounds of negotiations on the contract, we headed to inspections. When our inspection turned up an issue in the yard, Johnny was there with shovel in hand to help us determine the problem. The option period negotiations again took several rounds, with Johnny provided the voice of reason as we got frustrated. When closing delayed, he was there again with reassurances that the issues would get resolved. Johnny kept a sense of humor, perspective and our end goals in mind throughout the process and everything worked out. We would highly recommend Johnny and his team!
